British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday evening. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital follows the global fight fans shared sympathy for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
