FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga over two years since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Recent Activities
The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side in December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
